Clarinets & Cookies

The Clarinets & Cookies project is a community outreach and education initiative driven by Dr. Druhan and the students of the Clarinet Coalition on the TAMUC campus. Events are organized for community members of all ages to participate at no cost. Fundraisers from these activities help to fund events on campus, such as the Clarinet Colloquium.

Our 2019 event is now scheduled on December 17th at Cockrill Middle School in McKinney, TX. Check-in begins at 5:30 pm in the cafeteria! More information and early registration can be found here:

Our earliest events were designed as Christmas concerts with cookie receptions held in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Our events have been successful only through the help of our amazing friends and band directors who help host our events.

In 2018, Mary helped to organize a Clarinets & Cookies Patriotic celebration in conjunction with the Dallas Winds. Several hundred clarinetists filled the choir loft of the Meyerson Symphony Center to participate in this “Clarinet Army” which performed a new piece by composer David Lovrien alongside the Dallas Winds  for the Fourth of July Concert at the Meyerson.

The clarinet choir also performed a world premiere of a piece by Matthew Banks during intermission.
